HAPPY HALLOWEEN

Wishing everyone a Happy Halloween from us at Haunted Headquarters!

(Yes, Neytiri is wearing the Ladybug costume from the tunnel!  Actually, both Neytiri and Clooney were going to be Ladybugs as Ladybugs in nature are both female and male...so those who guessed both were onto us!  However, given the circumstances this week of Clooney's dental, he was given a free pass not to dress up this year!  Clooney is still eating without the appetite stimulant Wednesday and today. Not as much as with the pill, but still eating.  He has a recheck on Nov. 7 and we are purring that he will be cleared for his crunchy kibbles as he really is missing them!  Again, thanks so much for all your purrs!)

TUNNEL TUESDAY: TAKE A LOOK AT THEESE ONE!

 Well hello there felines.  So I goes to my tunnel in the wee hours of the morn...and what do I find?  There was Chicken Baby Food!  Can you believe it, felines?

Well, I thinks the baby food is much better than Jell-O, don'tcha agree felines?  I was really hoping for some dry crunchies though...oh how I miss my crunchy kibbles...

I also wanted to show you the dangers of welcome back parties and cerveza, felines...Someduck got carried away with the party games and stole my furs while I was sleeping!

**UPDATE ON CLOONEY:  RETURNED TO THE VET MONDAY AND WAS PUT ON AN APPETITE STIMULANT (for 3 days) AND TAKEN OFF ANTIBIOTIC (CLAVAMOX) AS IT IS THOUGHT IT WAS MAKING HIM FEEL SICK AND NOT WANT TO EAT.  MONDAY HE HAD BEST EATING SINCE THURSDAY!  HOPEFULLY NOW WE HAVE REALLY TURNED THE CORNER.**

Thank you all so much for your purrs and prayers and suggestions.  We appreciate your friendship very much!  (Since he cannot have dry crunchies for 2 weeks, we have been trying everything including baby food, A/D from the VET, tuna with tuna water and of course all soft, canned Num-Nums.)

Please keep Clooney in your thoughts and prayers as he has only eaten very minimally since his return home from his dental on Thursday afternoon and he will not drink water.  If we don't have a change by Monday, he will have to go back in to the VET.  If you could send some good vibes our way, it would be appreciated as we are going through a stressful, personal time right now.  Thank you for your friendship.

*Update on Clooney*

Clooney's surgery got pushed to late Wednesday afternoon and he had two extractions.  He is being kept overnight at the Hospital so he can be monitored.  At 5:30 PM (PST) the report was that he was doing well.  I will be bringing him home around noon today and will update again later.  Thank you so much for keeping the Cloon in your thoughts and if you could keep the purrs coming, that would be great too!

When I arrived back at Headquarters, "Ducky" had a brewski waiting for me.  Apparently, I'z on a liquid diet for awhile...I was so relieved that I wasn't really ousted from my CEO position at Headquarters and that everything was still in its proper place when I returned and went from room to room meowing investigating.  I gots lots of luvvins from my Human, some brushies and some Num-Nums (which I happily ate).  I appreciate all the purrs for me from my dear friends!  Thank you all so much!  Well, I thinks the cerveza is making me a bit sleepy so I'z off to get some shut-eye folks...

(Cloon's Human: Overall, Clooney is alert, has an appetite and seems to be doing very well.  He has wanted to be close to me this afternoon and is definitely glad to be home!  Thanks again, everyone!)

Neytiri got all excited because she thought it was a new ingredient to once again test out her Martha Stewart Baking Lessons!   But then we both realized that Jell-O has nothing to do with baking...

Suddenly, my spidey-senses kicked in and I had deja-vu...Audience, remember when my tunnel made me Jell-O before?  Oh, oh...stay tuned...

National Feral Cat Day

This was the first picture my Human ever saw of me on the interwebs when I was about 5 months old.  She found me at Happy Cat Sanctuary (a rescue group for abandoned and stray cats run by volunteers who trap, neuter/spay, release feral cats and provide long-term care and feeding).

I was found outside with my sister (who was named Dellilah by the rescue) when we were 2 months old.  

The rescue has a Sanctuary that houses shy kitties.  My sister still lives at the Sanctuary as she is still deemed a shy cat.  This is how she is described in her profile:

Dellilah is a very chubby, soft and gentle little girl who purrs as soon as you pet her. She has come a long way from when we rescued her as a feral kitten. She has always been very quiet and sweet. She has a little spot of black on the tip of her nose. Delilah has tried a new home but is far too shy and timid, at this time she is a permanent resident at the sanctuary.  Who knows, maybe down the road we can find her a trusting and understanding owner, but for now she is safe and happy with her feline friends.

We think about her all the time and feel sad that she doesn't live with us or have a special forever home where she is loved and cherished.  But we are very thankful that she is safe inside with food and shelter and other kitties she likes and the few Human volunteers she trusts.  You can go take a peek at who Dellilah lives with here.

We are very thankful for the rescue Happy Cat Sanctuary and all the work they do to help stray, abandoned and feral kitties.  

Today on National Feral Cat Day we think about my sister Dellilah and dedicate this post to her.

 Well hello there felines.  So I goes to my tunnel in the wee hours of the morn...and what do I find?  There was a Ladybug costume!  Can you believe it, felines?

Now ladybugs have a special meaning here at Headquarters...they remind us of our special Angel Inka.  Inka and I were best friends and I still miss her a lot.  It felt good to give the ladybug costume a cuddle and I even got a bit protective of it...

Then I gots to thinking....Hmm, I wonder why we have a ladybug costume at Headquarters?  Do you think somekitty here will be dressing up in theese get-up?  Audience, who do you think will be our Mystery Ladybug?

LADYBUG! LADYBUG!

Today marks 4 years of the passing of my special soul kitty, Inka.  When Inka was alive she had a special soft spot for ladybugs, always watching over them and following them around but never harming them (even though she was an expert bug-catcher and eater).  After Inka passed away, I witnessed ladybugs in unusual places and circumstances.  I thought if something was to be Inka's messenger, a ladybug would indeed be fitting.  

  Each year, the week before the Anniversary of her passing, I also see ladybugs.  This year, I was graced by a whole ladybug invasion on my outdoor patio.  Fifty or more ladybugs appeared one sunny afternoon out of the blue.  I had never seen so many ladybugs at one time.  It was truly special...and magical.  

(The metaphysical meaning of a ladybug is "energies of renewal and regeneration", "when it appears it is telling us to let go and let God". It is said that "ladybug teaches us to restore our faith and trust in Great Spirit. It initiates change where it is needed the most. When ladybug appears it is asking us to get out of our own way and allow Great Spirit to enter".)

 Well hello there felines.  So I goes to my tunnel in the wee hours of the morn...and what do I find?  Autumn had officially descended on my tunnel!   Can you believe that summer is now over, felines?

Here I am sniffing the fresh autumn leaves...There's something very interesting about theese leaves...

And here is Neytiri getting a whiff of the fall...

Aren't theese ones the prettiest, most vibrant leaves ever?

Hmm, I still can't put my paw on it...but something is different about theese autumn leaves...

Wait a minute!  I just figured it out!  Theese special leaves are filled with catnip!  Whoa, how cool is that?  I didn't know that catnip grew on trees...did you Audience?
