'Twas The Day Before Catmas Eve

"Twas the day before Catmas Eve and we were awaiting the arrival of The Deers to pull Clooney Claus's sled...

...and The Deers were nowhere to be found...

Neytiri had been up since the crack of dawn looking out on the backyard of Headquarters watching for The Deers to come up the side of the mountain...

Suddenly she called out to me in surprise...there was a message written in the snow:  

"Gone To Cabo" signed The Deers...

Oh, oh.  This does not bode well for ol' Clooney Claus and his deliveries this Catmas...We may just be using FedEx to ship catnip mousies to felines naughty and nice...

BLOGOVERSARY VALENTINE'S EXTRAVAGANZA

Happy Valentine's Day everyone!  We are holding our Annual Valentine's Extravaganza and celebrating our 7th Blogoversary!  You must notice that Neytiri is chillaxin' after all her PAR-TAY preparations...

She spent the day decorating the tunnel...

I have taken a selfie for my special Ladycat furriends Fiona and Giulietta and I have reserved the first ten minute cuddling session for them.  I am hoping that the cuddles will help cheer Fiona up and that the extra luvvins will be good for her health...

TUNNEL TUESDAY: A VERY SPECIAL EDITION

 Well hello there felines.  So I goes to my tunnel in the wee hours of the morn...yep you heard that right...  
My tunnel is finally stationed back at Headquarters sans feets and parked permanently ready to purrform its Tunnel Tuesday magic once again!  Apparently it had enough of the Walkabout adventures and the hot weather and decided to return to the comfort of home and air conditioning...
Anyhoo, where was I?  
So I goes to my tunnel and there waiting for me was Birthday wishes!  Yep Audience, it's my 9th Birthday today!

Wait a minute, there's also a Birthday gift from my tunnel to me!  My name in diamonds!  Can you believe it, felines?  Let me try this bling on for you...

Here I am modeling my special Birthday suit (wink, wink!)...

And then I got a message from Marmotville...

More Birthday wishes and a heart-shaped Marmot!  
I bet my Human will spoil me silly as well! This is shaping up to be a great day!

WALKABOUT WEDNESDAY

Well hello there felines.  It's "Walkabout Wednesday" and my tunnel is checking out some local activities today...

It headed to our downtown for Canada Day...

My tunnel spent most of the day suntanning on the waterfront...

And taking in the sights from the boardwalk...

We live in Kelowna, a city with a population of around 117,000...

It is in the Okanagan Valley where there are over 200 wineries and downtown Kelowna is on Okanagan Lake which is over 135 km long and borders seven other communities or municipalities...

 

After the hot day in the sun, my tunnel spied something good...

Homemade soft ice cream!

My tunnel said it was the best ice cream it has ever had! 

I was really disappointed that I didn't get any licks of the ice cream! 

Happy Canada Day to our fellow Canucks!

WALKABOUT WEDNESDAY

Well hello there felines.  It's "Walkabout Wednesday" and once again my tunnel is out and about...

This past Sunday, my tunnel took to Highway 97 and headed north to Vernon, a city of 38,000, located 46 km from where we live...
Kalamalka Lake above shows its different blue colors due to light scattering from the mineral calcite...

Then it headed up the mountain to an elevation of 5280 ft...

To Silver Star Mountain Resort...

My tunnel said the mountain air was so pure and fresh...

Silver Star is a pawpular skiing destination in the winter with some of the world's best powder...

Off-season it brings a lot of mountain bikers...

My tunnel enjoyed its walk on the wonderful hiking trails...

Taking in the beautiful sights of nature...

And the gorgeous wild flowers...

After my tunnel returned to Headquarters, it slept like a baby from all the pure, fresh mountain air...

WALKABOUT WEDNESDAY

Well hello there felines.  It's "Walkabout Wednesday" and my tunnel has recuperated from its balloon lag from last week and is ready to share some local adventures with you...

This past Saturday, my tunnel took to Highway 97 and headed south...

It hoofed it 62 km to Penticton, a small city of around 32,000 in the southern Okanagan valley and a pawpular destination for summer tourists...

The Farmer's Market was in session and is in its 25th season...

There was awesome produce including some lovely kale...

 

Talented musicians...

Yummy baked goods...

My tunnel had amour for L'Amour...

And got up-close-and-purrsonal with theese chocolate croissants...

There was lovely flowers...

Beautiful jewelry...

Here's a closer look at the unique gemstone jewelry pendants made by the man above...

My tunnel marveled at the gorgeous raspberries...

And unleashed its "Inner Gypsy"...

And then had a "Magical Reading"....

Apparently my tunnel is a hard subject to "read"...

After walking around the market for 2 hours, my tunnel worked up an appetite and headed to a very loved delicatessen...

Ordered up an awesome Italian sandwich with all the fixins'...

And sauntered over to the waterfront to chillax before making the trek back home...

(This giant peach on the waterfront represents the Peach Festival that is held in Penticton each August which has music and entertainment and activities like a sandcastle competition)...

My tunnel took in the gorgeous view of Okanagan Lake, had a bit of suntanning time and hit the highway for its return trip to Headquarters...
