Well hello there felines. It's
"Walkabout Wednesday" and my tunnel has recuperated from its balloon lag from last week and is ready to share some local adventures with you...
This past Saturday, my tunnel took to Highway 97 and headed south...
It hoofed it 62 km to Penticton, a small city of around 32,000 in the southern Okanagan valley and a pawpular destination for summer tourists...
The Farmer's Market was in session and is in its 25th season...
There was awesome produce including some lovely kale...
Talented musicians...
Yummy baked goods...
My tunnel had amour for L'Amour...
And got up-close-and-purrsonal with theese chocolate croissants...
There was lovely flowers...
Beautiful jewelry...
Here's a closer look at the unique gemstone jewelry pendants made by the man above...
My tunnel marveled at the gorgeous raspberries...
And unleashed its "Inner Gypsy"...
And then had a "Magical Reading"....
Apparently my tunnel is a hard subject to "read"...
After walking around the market for 2 hours, my tunnel worked up an appetite and headed to a very loved delicatessen...
Ordered up an awesome Italian sandwich with all the fixins'...
And sauntered over to the waterfront to chillax before making the trek back home...
(This giant peach on the waterfront represents the Peach Festival that is held in Penticton each August which has music and entertainment and activities like a sandcastle competition)...
My tunnel took in the gorgeous view of Okanagan Lake, had a bit of suntanning time and hit the highway for its return trip to Headquarters...
Join us next Wednesday for our new series "Walkabout Wednesday".
I'll take dat sammich please.
ReplyDeleteSo vibrant and colourful! But your post has made me hungreeeee!
ReplyDeleteWhoa, that's a REALLY BIG peach!
ReplyDeleteThis is such a fun local adventure the tunnel took! What a great market to visit. The L'Amour's baked goods look super yummy. I'd like to get up close and purrsonal with them, too :-) I can understand magical reading people had hard time "reading" the tunnel. Did they find palm? Haha. Love that giant peach at the waterfront. What a beautiful place. I'm guessing tunnel is planning to come back for peach festival in August :-)

my Mom loves Farmer's Markets and she loved this post! She just found a fabulous recipe for Kale salad too!
ReplyDeleteThat farmer's market looks pretty amazing! Too bad we don't have one like that around here!
ReplyDeleteThat looks like a great place for a vacation. And those raspberries look very good.
ReplyDeleteWow, what a good time your tunnel had.
ReplyDeleteOh Penticton! Mommy and Daddy and Cinnamon was "almost" there on Saturday too! They drived up to Big White (they had never been there in the summer) and then they took the Idabel-Penticton back road, but they turned and headed south halfway though OK Falls. Then down to Penticton and back to Midway. They went that way because they is seal coating Hwy 33 - Don't go that way unless you absolutely have to! The dust is terrible.

PS Mommy's on the waitlist for the Penticton Market
We really like this Walkabout Wednesday. We're trying to think of places we might could send Mumsy to report on....hmmmm. Gosh, we super enjoyed yours. You saw some really neat and beautiful things and places. We love all the photos. Farmers Markets are neat. They mostly have one around here on Saturdays...mostly. Sometimes for some reason they just don't happen. We are looking forward to your next Walkabout Wednesday! Yay! Hugs and love to you all :-)
