TUNNEL TUESDAY
TUNNEL TUESDAY: IT'S CATNIP SEEDS!!!
Well hello there felines. So I goes to my "tunnel" in the wee hours of the morn and what do I find? My very own package of catnip seeds! Isn't that fantastic? I was very excited about theese one! Now I has to do some research on the interwebs about the optimal growing conditions for catnip. Then I think I'll tend to my new plants in my Secret Research Laboratory where I can monitor their progress. Does anyone out there have any good tips for me? Neytiri was already getting a bit nip-crazy in anticipation...
Join me each TUESDAY felines for other magical and mysterious appearances in my "tunnel".

Heya Cloon,
ReplyDeleteMy Mama said would you mind sending those seeds to her? We've been searching for them seeds high and low around here but haven't found any. We've started our garden now. har har har *evil laughs*
My human got a catnip plant from the pet store and almost killed it, so she planted it outside. Then some brush clearance humans pulled up most of what was left! But there was just enough there to start growing again and it is doing all right! So I think the best thing to do, once they are started, is to give them lots of sun and sort of ignore them most of the time.
ReplyDeleteAwesome ! Let's get start !!!
ReplyDeleteMom got no idea how to grow it from seed because she was cheating by buying the nip plant : )
Our assistant planted some seeds outside for us and they grew like crazy. Just give those little seeds lots of water. Probably better to try to do it outside. We grew ours in a pot. We can't wait to see your nip growing Clooney and Neytiri. That will be great fun. Take care.
ReplyDeleteM has a big catnip plant outside for me - which I loves. But she's not familiar with cat nip.
ReplyDeleteWhoops dat should have said "M has a big catmint plant outside". She's never tried catnip.
ReplyDeleteWe don't have any advice about growing catnip, but we can help you out when your seeds have grown and are ready for harvest!
ReplyDeleteOur one piece of advice? Don't plant catnip in our mom's garden. In the scorching sun.
ReplyDeleteWe're sure you'll have better luck with yours -- lol.
I think the key to optimal growth is for the Human to take the seeds and plant them and keep the pot really really far away from you & Neytiri until the plant is big and strong. Because otherwise, well, you know....
ReplyDeleteI don't know how to grow it, but that is pretty exciting!
ReplyDeleteooooh, that IS exciting! Sprout 'em indoors, then harden 'em up a little, then plant outdoors! If you let them bloom they'll self-seed and come up every year!
ReplyDeleteWe excited too. Our Mumsy always gots the plant to grow we didn't know it came in the seed variety too.
ReplyDeleteI think they grow really well in NJ so you should send the seeds to me. When fully grown, I'll send you some leaves and buds. At least I think I will. MOL.
ReplyDeleteWe don't know anything about growing catnip, but wow that was certainly an exciting find!!!
ReplyDeleteWe done on Lil Em's Love Fund, that was very generous of you :-)

What a magical tunnel you haf!
ReplyDeleteI don't know how to grow the seeds, but you are going to get some pawsome nip out of them, I bet!
Oh how nice! You will have a home-grown catnip!
ReplyDeleteI don't have special tips, but when we grow cat grass, usually we put the pot on the deck, out of reach from our kids, then bring it when it's ready to be enjoyed.
I hope you will enjoy your cat nip :-)
Woohoo! Catnip seeds? Your amazing tunnel has outdone itself this time, Clooney!
ReplyDeleteWe gotta get one of those magik tunnels! You are a lucky dood! Purrs.
ReplyDeletePawsome find! We have no advice. Our mom has never been able to grow catnip plants or catmint plants for us... :-(
ReplyDeletePip, Smidgen, Minnie, and Hollie
